Got Basketball Skills? Now’s Your Chance to Win Big at America Madness!

Coming to the Royal Farms Arena this Summer

This June, an exciting new event is coming to the Royal Farms Arena – one in which anyone can participate and you have a chance to compete for $500,000 in winnings!

America Madness, hosted by the Palmer Empire, is a nationwide event centered around an amateur basketball shooting challenge. The Palmer Empire Foundation’s mission is to eradicate homelessness, assist domestic violence victims and provide full college scholarships.

The competition is open to the general public (ages 18+), and participants have the option to participate in a three-point shooting contest, a free throw contest or both. The goal of each event is to make as many shots as possible in a 30 second timeframe – either from any position behind the three-point arc (as in the three-point shooting contest) or from any position behind the free throw arc (as in the free throw contest). In both events, all shots are worth one point and the goal of each contest is to score as many points as possible during your 30 seconds.

Preliminary events are being held in 38 cities throughout the country, including Baltimore; those locations will be posted in March on the Palmer Empire’s website at Baltimore’s preliminary events will take place June 2-4, 2017. The participation fee for each contest is $200 (per contest, per participant). Participants also have the option to purchase “extra lives” for $75 each, each of which awards another 30 second round to the participant in order to obtain a higher score during the preliminary rounds. Special pricing options are available for military personnel and for students; see for more information. The deadlines to sign up to participate are February 3rd, 2017 ($100 deposit) and April 28th, 2017 (final $100 payment).

Only the top performers in each of the events will advance to the Arena stage. Baltimore’s Arena stage will take place at the Royal Farms Arena on June 10th, 2017. The top four performers in each contest at the Arena stage will win $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000 (third and fourth place), respectively.

But don’t worry, basketball fans! If you would like to witness all the action but not participate yourself, you can attend the event for just $50 (per person). And you still have a chance to win! Ten (10) lucky audience members will be chosen to receive prizes of $5,000 each! General admission tickets to the Arena stage go on sale March 6th, 2017.
